Supporting Your Cancer Journey: Integrative Therapies for Whole-Person Healing
At Mount Auburn Hospital's Herzstein Wellness Center, we provide education and integrative therapies to complement your traditional oncology care. Our therapies can help reduce fatigue, manage stress and anxiety, and support healing and recovery after surgery.
Our goal is to promote whole-person healing — caring for your body, mind, and spirit.
Who Can Benefit?
Our multidisciplinary team offers therapies as a complementary part of care for:
- Patients currently receiving cancer treatment at the Mount Auburn Hospital Oncology Department
- Survivors who have completed treatment and continue follow-up care within the Mount Auburn Network
Our Integrative Therapies & Services
We offer a wide range of holistic therapies designed to enhance your well-being during and after treatment:
- Acupuncture: Helps relieve pain, nausea, and fatigue
- Therapeutic Oncology Massage: Reduces muscle tension, promotes relaxation
- Reiki: Supports energy balance and stress relief
- Pet Therapy: Provides comfort and emotional support
- Therapeutic Music: Enhances mood and relaxation
- Therapeutic Art: Encourages self-expression and healing
- Chair Yoga: Improves flexibility and reduces stress
- Qi Gong: Supports energy flow and mindfulness
- Mind-Body Groups: Foster patient connection and education through expert-led sessions with:
- Oncology dietitians
- Physical therapists
- Social workers
- Medical providers

We’re always looking for gently used books to fill our lending library. These books are a welcome distraction to patients and their families during long hours in treatment. If you’d like to donate your previously loved books, please email us.

As a cancer patient, I am grateful for the wide range of complementary practices offered at Mount Auburn Hospital. The range of services allowed me to choose an integrative therapy that worked for me, find a supportive community and encouraged self-care. The Wellness Center adds a compassionate element that helps in negotiating the stress of a cancer diagnosis and treatment and provides important resources for post-cancer care.
