Personalized Interpreter Services
At Mount Auburn Hospital, we ensure clear communication between you and your care team. We provide language assistance no matter what language you or your loved ones speak.
We offer professional interpreter services for patients who are:
- Non-English speaking
- Limited-English speaking
- Deaf
- Hard of hearing
These free interpreter services are provided:
- In-person (for both spoken and sign language)
- Over-the-phone
- With a video relay service
In most cases, clinics and departments arrange for interpreters to meet your needs.
Types of Language Assistance
Our full-time interpreters speak Armenian, Russian and Spanish. We use per-diem and agency interpreters for other languages and for American Sign Language.
We also offer an over-the-phone and video interpreter service. This provides access to hundreds of languages 24/7.
Experts in Medical Interpreting
You’ll work with trained medical interpreters. You’ll receive complete, accurate and easy to understand information.
Your interpreter keeps your personal health information private. They assist conversations between you and your care team. They will not offer their own advice or opinions.
