Care for conditions that affect speech and swallowing
If you need treatment for a speech/language or swallowing disorder, trust the experienced, licensed speech-language pathologists at Mount Auburn Hospital. Working closely with patients, families and caregivers, our clinicians provide individualized care to help you fully recover.
If you’re spending time in the hospital, our speech pathologists work as part of an interdisciplinary team to improve your communication and/or swallowing abilities. Should you need a modified barium swallow study, our therapists work in conjunction with the Radiology team to identify your swallowing problems and recommend appropriate foods, liquids and behavior changes to improve your swallowing.
You have access to our Speech Therapy services at our off-campus location at 625 Mount Auburn Street in Cambridge. There, a therapist will evaluate your condition and then develop an individualized treatment plan and home exercise program.
Should you need a modified barium swallow study on an outpatient basis, your primary care provider (PCP) will schedule your appointment with the Radiology team. A speech-language therapist will perform the study along with the radiologist.
We offer a full range related services to support your rehab therapy.
