Our Services

Learn about our physical therapy offerings at Mount Auburn Hospital.
Inpatient Physical Therapy

During your time in the hospital, your inpatient physical therapist evaluates your mobility, strength, balance and endurance. We work with your providers to ensure you have the chance to recover to the best of your ability while hospitalized, paying special attention to your acute medical needs. Inpatient physical therapists also help secure support and care for your condition after your discharge.

Outpatient Physical Therapy

You’ll find state-of-the-art equipment and flexible hours at our two off-campus outpatient locations in Cambridge. Your first visit allows extra time for your therapist to fully evaluate your condition. Your therapist then develops a treatment plan and an individualized home exercise program using Medbridge to speed your recovery.

Components of Outpatient Therapy

Get compassionate care in a collaborative environment. You can expect to develop a close, one-on-one relationship with your therapist as you work toward your recovery goals. Our therapists are skilled in a variety of physical therapy interventions:

  • Gait training
  • Joint and tissue mobilization
  • Manual therapy
  • Posture retraining
  • Therapeutic exercise

Your progress during the course of your treatment will be communicated to your referring physician. A discharge report is sent once you have completed therapy.
