Hospitalist Care

Ensuring quality care during your hospital stay

Delivering Care for Your Individual Health Needs

If you need to stay in the hospital, you face unique health concerns. At Mount Auburn Hospital, a hospitalist will coordinate and deliver care for your individual needs. Our hospitalists are board-certified Internal Medicine physicians who specialize in hospital-based care. Physicians who provide care for critically ill or injured people are called intensivists, and they support our critical care services.

The Importance of Hospitalist Care

Hospitalists understand the kind of health issues you may face while in the hospital. They focus on your care around the clock. You'll work with our hospitalists from the time you are admitted to the hospital to the time you leave. They work with your primary care provider to help you transition out of the hospital.

During your stay, a hospitalist can help:

  • Respond to emergencies
  • Answer any questions you have
  • Make adjustments to your treatment plan as necessary

Expert Care During Your Hospital Stay

All hospitalists have academic appointments at the Harvard Medical School and teach medical residents and students. Our hospitalists use their expertise to:

  • Provide excellent patient care
  • Practice evidence-based medicine
