Application & Interview Process

Please be sure to carefully review the qualifications and required application materials below. To qualify as a pharmacy residency candidate, applicants must meet the following requirements.

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited program: Applicants must be graduates of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program.
  • ASHP Resident Matching Program: Mount Auburn Hospital residency program participates in the Resident Matching Program. Applicants must register to participate in the match.
  • Work Authorization/Permit: To qualify for the pharmacy residency program, all applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship.
  • Submit a completed PhORCAS application
  • On-Site or Virtual Interviews: An interview with Mount Auburn Hospital is required. Applicants will be invited to interview based upon their application. We can conduct virtual interviews for those candidates that would prefer but on-site interviews will also be offered. Information regarding format will be provided with interview invitation.

To apply for a pharmacy residency program, follow the steps below in the order indicated. The deadline to complete all steps below is January 2 of each year. Please be sure to carefully review the qualifications and required application materials below.

Submit your application to PhORCAS.

  • Basic demographics: Applicants will be required to submit basic demographics including address, phone, email, etc.
  • Verified Transcripts: As many university registrar offices will be closed during the holiday season, you may submit a transcript that does not include the fall semester’s course work.
  • Personal statement/Letter of Intent: Describe why you have decided to pursue this pharmacy residency program and what you hope to gain from residency training.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Three PhORCAS reference forms: Two reference forms must be from different clinical rotations and 1 letter of recommendation from an employer or faculty. Reference writers must complete the PhORCAS reference form in the system.
  • Extracurricular Information: Applicants will be asked to enter extracurricular activities (e.g. awards, leadership roles, presentations, publications, work experience, volunteer/community service, etc.) into PhORCAS.
