Dining and Meal Services
Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. Mount Auburn Hospital makes every effort to provide nutritious meals that are prepared according to your doctor’s orders.
Room Service
Our Room Service Program gives you greater control over the timing and content of your meals during your stay with us. After reviewing your choices, dial phone ext. 3663 (FOOD) to speak with a member of our staff. The nutrition clerk will take your selections and contact our kitchen to place the order.
Our patient meal room service is at your service from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm daily.
You may request a meal at any time during our room service hours. Upon request, meal boxes and pre-cooked meals are available for after-hours dining.
If you’re scheduled for a special test or treatment, your nurse or doctor will tell you when you can receive a meal. At the appropriate time, you can call us from your room at ext. 3663 to ask for your meal to be delivered.
Please note that if you are on a special diet prescribed by your doctor, our nutrition clerks will offer you a range of food substitutions.
In special cases, a family member also may order a meal delivered to your room.
Meal and Snack Options for Visitors
Your family members and visitors can enjoy several choices for meals and snacks.
Our cafeteria provides hot entrees, beverages and snacks for purchase. Dining choices include a made-to-order grill and deli counter:
Cafeteria hours (weekdays only):
- 7:00 am to 10:00 am, Breakfast
- 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, Lunch
- 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Dinner
Find the cafeteria on the second floor of the Needham building.
Our Stanton Café offers freshly made paninis, deli sandwiches, gourmet salads, pastries, desserts and Starbucks coffee.
Café hours:
- 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, seven days per week
Find the Stanton Café in the main lobby of the Stanton Building.
Located next to the cafeteria, our innovative micro-market offers a variety of snacks, beverages, pre-packaged salads and sandwiches, coffee, and convenience items 24/7.
You and your visitors may purchase snacks and beverages at our vending machines. Find vending at these locations:
- In the Emergency Department waiting area
- Second floor of the Needham building by the center elevators
