Happiest Baby & Infant Care Essentials Virtual Class

Gain skills and confidence in caring for your newborn

Learn More About Your Postpartum Experience

Welcoming a new baby can be an exciting and anxious time, especially for first-time parents. With our three-hour infant care class, you learn the skills you need to take your newborn home with confidence.

In the Happiest Baby portion of this class, learn how to soothe your baby and what to expect from your postpartum experience. By the end of the class, you will:

  • Understand the “fourth trimester.”
  • Learn how to recognize and respond to your baby’s moods.
  • Practice “The five S’s” — simple, step-by-step soothing techniques developed by Harvey Karp, MD, a nationally renowned pediatrician and child development specialist.
  • Learn how to help your baby sleep better.

During the Infant Care Essentials part of class, you’ll review common newborn characteristics and behaviors. You’ll learn about:

  • Bathing and hygiene, including umbilical cord care.
  • How to change a diaper.
  • How to recognize signs of illness and properly take your baby’s temperature.
  • When to expect infant milestones.
  • Safe sleeping practices.
